The Titan 800 portable direct-fired propane heaters are probably the most widely-used heaters for GreenTech Bed Bug Heaters treatments. They are inexpensive and can be transported fairly easily around the job site.

The fan in the heater is powered by 120 volts at 7.5 amps and the heat is generated by propane or natural gas. Our unit moves up to 5,000 CFM at 990,000 BTU when fully open. Generating 990,000 BTU, these heaters operate with a max discharge temperature of 260F and can increase ambient temperature up to 180F.

The formula for calculating the heat output of a heater is:

BTU = (airflow in cfm) x 1.08 x (change in temperature)

Direct-fired gas units need to be placed outside the structure and gas detection should be performed while technicians are working inside the treatment area to ensure oxygen, carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide are at appropriate levels.

A single Titan 800 will treat up to 4,000 square feet in 8 hours.

The Titan 800 provides a 2-year repair or replace warranty. Propane tank not included.

Direct fired gas heaters are effective for treatment of insects and raising interior and exterior wall temperatures to lethal levels for wood destroying pests like termites. They are so effective for this purpose the state of California has approved them as a primary treatment for termites!

Because of the convected energies created by the GreenTech's electric and propane heaters, we do not recommend residents re-enter the property until temperatures have cooled to 85°F.
